Known as Coach Pete to friends & clients, he has authored 6 books and co-authored 2.  Two of his books have reached the best-sellers list on Amazon.  The most noteworthy book, Successonomics, is one that Coach Pete co-authored with Steve Forbes.  But, by far, his favorite book just happens to be his most recent, “7 Baby Steps to a ridiculously Reliable Retirement Income”.

He has just been named to the prestigious Forbes Leadership Council and will be submitting at least 6 articles a year to Forbes for their readers’ print and web enjoyment.

He is a graduate from The University of North Carolina and a proud father of daughter, Caroline, age 11 with his wife, Kim.

ESPN Wilmington brings you the 10th annual Big Heart Golf Tournament brought to you by Bob King Buick/GMC.

Wave Transit
Fixed route bus and ADA accessible van services will conclude at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4th and resume at 6:00 am on Friday, September 6th. No service will be provided and offices will close starting 6:00 pm on Wednesday thru 6:00 am on Friday.
Good Shepherd Center
Good Shepherd admin offices, soup kitchen, and shelter are closed to the public until the emergency shelters close. We will be updating social media and our website as things change. #hurricanedorian in the meantime, donations made thru our website will help recovery!

The shelters will open Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. Wrightsville Beach at Blair Elementary School (located on Blair School Road) is a pet co-location shelter.

The shelters will open Wednesday, Sept. 4. at 2 p.m.

Cape Fear Middle School is a pet-friendly shelter and will serve special needs. Residents who are listed on the special-needs registry should contact the health department at 910-259-1230.

If you have a pet you need to stay in the Cape Fear Middle School shelter. Pet owners are required to present rabies vaccination records. Residents need to bring pet food and water. Please bring pet carriers.

An SUV driver in New Jersey had just gone through a car wash when she accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake and drive the vehicle right into a river/ Fortunately she and her daughter were able to get out unhurt.

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN: Australian Honor

Olivia Newton-John has been made a Companion of the Order of Australia, her home country’s highest civilian honor.

Cited for her “service to community health,” the singer-actress who is being treated for cancer again, responded via a Facebook video. She said, “I am so proud to be an Aussie and this couldn’t have come at a better time.”

Newton-John was recognized for her “eminent service to community health, particularly for people living with cancer, through support for medical research, and as a songwriter and performer.”

Other Australian entertainers honored as part of the country’s Australia Day celebration include Kylie Minogue and the Las Vegas fixture Human Nature.
