Sunday’s late afternoon window features one of the best interconference games of the season and a Bay Area matchup with a big spread. Green Bay visits New England in a battle of 5-3 teams, and the 49ers come off their bye to host the Raiders. San Francisco is 6-1, rested after a bye and one of the most efficient offenses in football. The 49ers convert 86.4% of their red-zone trips, the best rate in the NFL, which means drives that get inside the 20 almost always end in touchdowns.
Las Vegas is 4-4 and coming off a wild 38-33 win over the Jets. The Raiders can score, but they’ve also allowed more points than they’ve put up this season, and this is their last game before a bye week of their own.
Odds are subject to change
Pick: Brock Purdy passing touchdowns (higher). The 49ers rarely settle for field goals in the red zone, and they’re facing a Raiders defense that just gave up 33 points to the Jets. With a 51.5 total and a rested offense, Purdy should have multiple chances to find the end zone.
Two 5-3 teams with very different identities meet in Foxborough. Green Bay has thrown for more yards than anyone in the league, with 2,168 through eight games, but the Packers’ running game has struggled badly. They also come in with extra rest after beating Carolina 27-19 on Thursday night in Week 8.
New England has been dominant at home. The Patriots are 3-0 at Gillette Stadium, averaging more than 30 points per game there while allowing just 13. They’re coming off a 24-19 win in Miami, and tight end Hunter Henry has been a reliable target in an offense that’s scored 22 touchdowns.
Odds are subject to change
Pick: Jordan Love passing yards (higher). Green Bay can’t run the ball, so it doesn’t try very often. The Packers’ offense lives through the air, and against a Patriots team that scores a lot at home, Love will be throwing plenty to keep up.
Pick: Hunter Henry receptions (higher). Henry is the steady outlet in New England’s passing game, and a Green Bay defense focused on taking away big plays tends to leave room underneath. Expect him to be a frequent target on third downs.
The day also includes Bengals-Falcons in Madrid, Giants-Eagles in the early window and Buccaneers-Bears on Sunday Night Football.
