Rep. Jimmy Patronis, R-Fla., is asking the Atlantic Coast Conference to disclose its policies governing online sports betting by conference employees, referees and other individuals connected to its competitions.
In a letter sent Thursday to ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips and the conferenceâs board of directors, Patronis said the request was prompted by the ACCâs support for the Protect College Sports Act, a sweeping federal proposal addressing NIL rights, revenue sharing, athlete health and safety, transfers and other issues in college athletics.
“Seeing as the ACC is asking Congress for help with NIL, I believe we must have transparency regarding each bodyâs policies and how they navigate online betting,” Patronis wrote.
