Sunday gets started early this week. The Bengals and Falcons kick off Week 9 from the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid at 9:30 a.m. ET, and a few hours later, the surprising Giants visit a reeling Eagles team in Philadelphia. Cincinnati arrives in Madrid at 5-2 and riding a three-game win streak. Joe Burrow is running the best passing attack in the league, with a 111.6 passer rating, and the Bengals lead the NFL in third-down conversions at 52.9%. The defense has been less reliable, giving up 36 points to Tennessee recently, and the over has hit in each of Cincinnati’s last three games.
Atlanta is 3-5 and is the designated home team despite playing an ocean away from Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Falcons are coming off a rough day in Tampa where they threw four interceptions, and they need to lean on Bijan Robinson to keep Burrow on the sideline.
Odds are subject to change
Pick: Ja’Marr Chase receiving yards (higher). The league’s best passing offense against a Falcons team that’s struggled to keep games clean. Burrow’s top target should be busy on a fast grass surface.
Pick: Bijan Robinson rushing yards (higher). After a four-interception game, Atlanta has every reason to protect its quarterback and run the ball. Robinson is the Falcons’ best path to staying in this one.
The NFC East has flipped upside down. The Giants are 4-2-1, including a 27-27 tie in Washington, and they come in rested after a Week 8 bye. The Eagles are 2-6, have lost six straight and have played without Jalen Hurts since mid-October. Philadelphia’s point differential sits at -65, and last week’s 27-10 loss in Washington was another lopsided defeat.
The market reflects the shift. The Giants are road favorites in Philadelphia, and the total sits at a low 39.5.
Odds are subject to change
Pick: Cam Skattebo rushing yards (higher). The Giants’ running game has been the heartbeat of their turnaround, and a rested New York team facing a struggling Eagles defense should lean on the ground game to control the clock.
Pick: A.J. Brown receiving yards (lower). Without Hurts, Philadelphia’s passing game hasn’t been able to get the ball to Brown consistently. A low total points to a low-volume afternoon for the Eagles’ offense.
