Chicago has been the best bet in football this season. The Bears are an NFL-best 5-2 against the spread, they’ve won two straight, including a 30-24 win over New England, and Caleb Williams has given them efficiency and mobility at quarterback. A win in Seattle would put them in the conversation for the top seed in the NFC and one of the early Super Bowl favorites.
Seattle is 4-3 and hasn’t looked like the team that won it all last season so far in the early going. The Seahawks are 2-3-2 ATS overall and 1-1-2 at home. But, the Seahawks are coming off a convincing home win over the Chiefs. Mike Macdonald’s defense is still the backbone, and the last thing Seattle wants is a shootout that puts the game on Sam Darnold’s shoulders. Lumen Field on a Monday night is still one of the toughest places to play in the league.
Williams is the obvious starting point. His legs make his rushing line worth a look, and the Bears have shown they’ll lean on him in big spots. Chicago’s backfield could be thin, with Kyle Monangai missing practice with thumb and toe injuries, so check his status before locking anything in. On Seattle’s side, it comes down to whether Darnold has time to find his weapons against a Bears defense that’s been opportunistic all season.
